Promo Videos for Spoluškola
When Spoluškola first approached me to create an animated video promoting their upcoming e-book, they were open to ideas and seeking guidance. As an organization supporting children with special needs in education, they wanted to share real stories through a free e-book download. Despite not having a specific vision or requirements for the video, their goal was clear: to raise awareness about their organization and drive e-book downloads.
Storyboards
Collaboratively, we defined a clear brief outlining key strategies to achieve the project goal:
- vertical video resolution for Instagram optimization;
- three-video sequence for staged campaign rollout;
- basing each video on simplified typical situations of their potential clients.
The Spoluškola team developed great scripts based on our agreed concepts, which I began visualizing.
While working on the storyboards, I aimed to tell each story in the simplest yet most captivating way possible, while considering project constraints and objectives. For each storyboard ending I have used the same structure to tie all the videos together. Also, I created unique characters for each story to give each video its distinct personality.
During the process, we agreed on the idea of not visually depicting the disabilities of children, avoiding common clichés, and emphasizing the concept of equal rights for these children alongside their peers.
Illustrations
The Spoluškola team was delighted by how the story began to take shape visually. They suggested maintaining a similar style in the illustrations to the sketches I created for the storyboards. They desired to preserve a minimalistic, childlike style with a hand-drawn feel. The color scheme was limited by the brand's visual style: brand yellow, white, and shades of dark grey and black.
Animation
All the animations were created using Adobe After Effects software while applying special effects to keep a hand-drawn feel. Check out the final outcomes below.👇
The client was thrilled with both the collaboration process and the outcomes. Additionally, I was tasked with adapting the illustrations I created for the animation for use in their e-book. These illustrations were incorporated into the pages of the chapters, as comic stories, and for tips and pieces of advice sections.
